NEW MUSIC: ‘Post Punk’ Album Released for AudioNetwork

This week sees the release of my new album Post Punk.

The album, written by Kes Loy, Barrie Gledden & me, is a collection of 7 tracks reflecting the Post Punk era of the late 1970s & early 1980s.
AudioNetwork says ‘Dark post-punk with punchy band instrumentation, cynical vocals and up-tempo rock guitar combine with heavy bass and tight rhythmic kit’.

Old Man Stone: ‘Paisley Park’ Video Released

In 1997 I was lucky enough to be part of the band Old Man Stone (OMS), along with fellow composer Barrie Gledden, Rick Dowson & Johnny Rock.

Our debut album ‘Spork‘ charted well around the globe & we toured extensively in support of the release.

MUSIC ON: ‘Going for a Song’ Short Animation Featuring My Track ‘Twists and Turns’

I’ve recently been involved with the creation of music (writing, recording, mixing & mastering) for a new short animation helping people understand how copyright works.

The animation, for CopyrightUser.org via AudioNetwork, follows the writing of a song from inception to getting it ‘out’ & heard by the public.

Produced by ‘Worth Knowing Productions Ltd.‘, they took my track ‘Twists and Turns‘ and reverse engineered it – going from humming the tune, to adding lyrics; recording it, to performing it and making it available to buy, download or use.

The original track is here. Written by myself, Barrie Gledden & Key Loy.
Additional vocals & music were added for the animation by Kes Loy & Lucy Kimmings.

MUSIC ON: My Track ‘Great Escapes’ Featured on Gary Barlow’s ‘Take Part’ Advert

My track ‘Great Escapes‘ is featured on the advert for a new prime time Saturday Night TV show ‘Let It Shine’.

Watch Gary Barlow stun a crowd of unsuspecting shoppers as he launches his brand new BBC One show.
Gary is looking for five guys to perform the songs of Take That in a new nationwide musical. Head to bbc.co.uk/takepart to apply.

Tentatively titled ‘Let It Shine’, the show… ‘is an exciting new BBC One Saturday night entertainment show searching for five talented males to perform the songs of Take That in an upcoming nationwide stage show.

We’re NOT after lookalikes but if you think you can sing and move as well as the original members of the group then we’d love to hear from you.

The series will feature Gary Barlow so be ready to impress the man himself.

The prize is to star in a new musical which will feature the music of Take That and open in September 2017, then tour nationwide. Equity rules apply.

Nationwide auditions will take place in July and August 2016, and if you’re successful, filming for the series will happen on various dates between September 2016 and early 2017.’
